We’re looking for a Production Operative to join a manufacturing business in Chinley, High Peak.
This is a role suited to someone with previous production, manufacturing or similar experience, as you will be operating machinery, handling raw materials and preparing finished products within the compounds team.
What’s on offer?
- £13.77 per hour
- £30,441.65 per year, including shift allowance
- 42.5 hours per week
- Rotating days and nights, alternating weekly
- Monday – Thursday working week
- Full training provided
What will you be doing as a Production Operative?
- Mixing polymers, additives and pigments to set formulations
- Measuring raw materials accurately in line with each compound recipe
- Loading materials weighing up to 25kg into hoppers for mixing
- Setting, operating and monitoring production machinery and extrusion lines
- Making sure materials are mixed to the required customer quality specification
- Carrying out and recording in-process quality checks
- Completing material and colour changeovers
- Packing and storing finished products correctly
- Using an FLT to move raw materials, packaging and finished goods around the site
- Maintaining health, safety and quality standards
- Carrying out general production and housekeeping duties
What will you need?
- Previous production, manufacturing or similar experience
- An FLT licence, although full training will be provided if required
- Basic knowledge of health, safety and quality standards
- Basic computer skills
