We’re hiring for a CNC Miller to contribute to the success of a fast growing, market leading manufacturer based in Stockport.
This is a full-time permanent position, with further opportunities to grow and develop within the company.

What will you be doing as a CNC Miller?
  • Complying with the Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy and identifying health and safety hazards before commencing work
  • Performing “Start of Work” machine inspections before the start of each shift
  • Reporting any machine faults or unusual occurrences through approved Maintenance Reporting Procedures
  • Reading and comprehending engineering drawings to ensure machined parts conform to drawing and planning specifications
  • Setting up and operating CNC milling machines, retrieving and inputting CNC programs from the network as per the appropriate paperwork
  • Selecting suitable tools, equipment, and materials for machining preparation
  • Measuring, examining, and visually inspecting components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometres and verniers according to drawing specifications
  • Inputting production tickets onto SAP upon completing each task
  • Providing assistance and training to semi-skilled machinists or new team members as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company’s Environmental and Health & Safety policies and any regulatory agencies to maintain the safety of all employees
What do you need?
  • Grace C or higher in English & Maths (GCSE or equivalent)
  • Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience with running CNC machining centres
  • SAP experience
  • NVQ Level 2-3 in Engineering/Machining OR HNC/HND & machining apprenticeship (desirable)
