CNC Miller

We’re hiring for a skilled CNC Miller to join an engineering firm based in Glossop to set and operate a range of CNC machines. We are recruiting for both millers and those with experience of operating twin spindle machines.

• £14.50 to £19.50 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Two shift patterns available
• 25 days holiday + bank hols

What will you be doing as a CNC Miller?

• Setting and operating a range of CNC machines, including multi-axis and sliding head (possibly programming experience dependant)
• Producing components to required tolerances and quality standards, right first time
• Finishing components to the highest quality standards
• Identifying and recommending programme amendments to improve efficiency and/or quality
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet the required quality standards

What do you need?

• Experience as a CNC Miller, setter and operator, preferably with experience of operating 3-axis and/or sliding head machines
• Qualified through apprenticeship or HND
• Experience of programming FANUC controls will be beneficial
• The ability to manufacture precision components from fully understanding engineering drawings in terms of tolerances, surface finish etc.
• Experience of CMM desirable
• Focused on quality with high level of attention to detail
