Controls Engineer

We’re hiring for a Controls Engineer to join a large specialised engineering manufacturer based in Buxton to be responsible for designing, installing, managing and maintaining a wide variety of machinery equipment.

Located in the scenic High Peak and operating for more than 50 years, this reputable manufacturer has 10 production sites around the world and manufactures more than 3 million components per week. Due to continued success, they required a Controls Engineer to assist with producing a range of components.

 

What’s on offer?

• £40,000 per annum
• Rotating shift pattern:

-Shift 1: Sun: 12:00am -6:00am / Mon – Thur: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am

-Shift 2: Mon – Thurs: 2:00pm – 10.00pm / Fri 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm

-Shift 3: Mon: Thurs: 6:00am – 2:00pm /  Fri: 6:00am – 12:00pm

 

What will you be doing as a Controls Engineer?

• Providing technical support to diagnose quickly and accurately electrical/electronic faults within production equipment using appropriate fault-finding techniques such as half-split, input-output, function testing etc.
• Supporting a variety of automation equipment
• Monitor and maintain machine vision systems
• Designing and building Siemens PLC & HMI programs to meet specific design requirements set by the Engineering team
• Designing electrical schematics using CAD to meet specific design requirements
• Overseeing the building HVAC system
• Provide technical assistance in completion of machine Risk Assessments

 

What do you need?

• Qualified to HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
• IEE 17th edition inspection & testing
• Programming
  • Sigmatek Control systems
  • Intel PLM and 8051 Assembly language
  • Visual Basic & VBA
  • SQL Database design
  • C++
• An understanding of relational database design
• Knowledge of ORCAView and BacNet (Delta HVAC)
