Finance Assistant

We’re hiring for a Finance Assistant to join an industry leading manufacturer based in Buxton, High Peak. With several sites across the globe and a consolidated turnover of more than £2 billion, you’ll be joining a fast-growing, thriving company with big ambitions.

It will be your role to support the Controller with the implementation of commercial discipline inside the sites in full alignment with the Sales & Commercial agenda. There will also be an opportunity to support with financial controlling and month end reporting processes in order to be able to deputise for the Controller and to support further development and progression within Controlling.

What’s on offer?

• £28,000 – £32,000 per annum
• Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
• Hybrid working 1 – 2 days per week

What will you be doing as a Finance Assistant?

• Defining and calculating standard costs (hourly rates, raw materials, costs, etc.) and controlling the updating of all variables that depend on other departments and that are necessary for the preparation of rates and price offers
• Ensuring compliance with internal regulations in the factory (group procedures and customer profitability manual)
• Understanding individual customer’s products and margins – recommendation on the best products to be made in the factory
• Analysing customer risks and making the necessary decisions in each case
• Preparing the annual performance evaluation and defining the action
• Understanding the business levers to generate margin
• Creating and maintaining close relationships with main stakeholders

What do you need?

• University degree in Finance or related discipline
• Up to 2 years’ experience within a finance and or commercial function
• High level of computer skills including MS office
• Advanced level of Microsoft Excel capability
• SAP, EFI and Click review knowledge is advantageous
• Highly numerate with good commercial acumen
• Organised, self-managed, and close attention to detail
