We’re hiring for a Manufacturing Manager to join a global manufacturer based in the High Peak. The company design and manufacture their product and have more than 270 sites worldwide. You’ll be reporting into the Operations & Logistics Manager and will be accountable for all aspects of manufacturing and engineering.

What will you be doing as a Production Manager?
- Chair local EHS meetings and ensure all parties complete agreed actions
- Conducting and auditing observations/ actions as part of monthly local EHS meetings
- Reviewing Risk Assessments monthly as part of local EHS meetings
- Conducting monthly safety audit
- Ensuring SQDC boards are updated daily
- Ensuring all relevant parties attend VS/SQDC Improvement meeting
- Ensuring escalation procedure is adhered and propose improvements to the escalation procedure
- Supporting & auditing practical problem solving (PPS) activities as triggered
- Ensuring kaizen events meet their objectives & are aligned with priorities
- Ensuring labour flexing in line with demand & between Value Streams
- Conducting formal hearings according to Disciplinary & Grievance policy
- Monitoring & controlling any overtime working within all areas
- Supporting training and development of team members – upskill to eliminate skill gaps and/or improve productivity
- Coaching and mentoring supervisors to support on-going development through annual appraisal / performance management plans
- Escalating maintenance issues in line with escalation procedure
- Ensuring maintenance improvement plans are implemented
What do you need?
- HNC Engineering/Technical or equivalent and/or several years of manufacturing leadership experience in automotive industry
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Financial awareness – understand the drivers of manufacturing costs – previous experience in efficiency improvements
- Experience managing a budget
- Experience managing/motivating a team
- Technical process and product knowledge
- Full Microsoft Office knowledge – Intermediate to Advanced Level
- Excellent analytical skills
- Project management ability
