Mechanical Engineer

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading manufacturer based in Buxton, High Peak on a 3-month contract. With several sites across the globe and a consolidated turnover of more than £2 billion, you’ll be joining a fast-growing, thriving company with big ambitions.

What’s on offer?

• £31,000 – £34,000 per annum
• Rotating shifts: Tue – Thurs 6am – 6pm / Mon – Thurs 9am – 9pm
• Overtime opportunities available at enhanced rate
• Free onsite parking

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Engineer?

• Carrying out fast and effective maintenance, equipment repair, and service of production machinery
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspection to an agreed schedule
• Ensuring accurate recording of breakdowns using the iPad apps
• Ordering parts from suppliers and contributing to ongoing project work
• Conforming to all of our health & safety, plus hygiene rules

• Working to a high standard of workmanship and cleanliness

What do you need?

• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge with experience of working in a modern manufacturing environment

• Previous training / experience and qualifications to work on electrical panels and general mains wiring

• The ability to work with minimal supervision
• Proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work
