Mechanical Fitter

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Fitter to join a specialist distributor of pumps, valves and rotational motors based in Middleton, Rochdale who service, repair, and distribute machinery for the FMCG, pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, commercial and industrial sectors.

With more than 25 years’ experience in the industry, they have a vast portfolio of manufacturing clients across the UK, offering bespoke and advanced services. The company are a fast-growing business who are market leaders within their niche and have grown x10 in the last 12 years.

What’s on offer?

• £30,000 to £35,000 per annum (opportunity to earn £40,000+ with extras/overtime)
• Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm / Friday 8:00 am – 3:45 pm
• Opportunity to work on weekend call outs/breakdown repairs. Overtime rates = x1.5 Monday – Friday / x2 weekends

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter?

• Refurbishment of Motors, Pumps and Valves, involving strips down, refurbishment and then site installations
• Visiting various manufacturing sites, including FMCG, Hospitality, Oil & Gas to remove / install various mechanical components
• Installation and basic wiring of electrical motors
• Assembling and building of components to rebuild rotational machinery and pumps

What do you need?

• 5+ years’ experience working with rotational machinery and pumps within a manufacturing setting
• Time served apprentice trained mechanical engineer (Level 3 NVQ desirable)
• Knowledge of mechanical components
• The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and produce job reports and inspection check sheets
• Self-sufficient, adaptable and the ability to work under pressure at times
