Mechanical Fitter


£13.00 - £15.00 per hour

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Fitter to join an installation and maintenance company based in Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak. Your role will initially involve working on a shutdown in Buxton whilst training, however with repairs and installations being carried out throughout the UK, your role will see you travelling to various sites to carry out mechanical maintenance work.

  • £13.00 – £15.00 per hour (£30K – £35K DOE)
  • Full-time 45 hours per week (paid breaks)
  • Overtime often available paying up to £21 per hour
  • Van & tools provided
  • Ongoing contract which is highly likely to lead to a permanent jobs for the right person


What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter?

  • Your role as a Mechanical Fitter will be varied and could consist of pipework, ducting, removals, changing gearboxes, bulk material handling and fabrication duties
  • Working as part of a skilled team in the workshop to build and test mechanical parts
  • General shutdown work, maintenance, installation and machine breakdown as required


What do you need?

  • A minimum of two years’ experience mechanical fitting / heavy machinery maintenance
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous
  • Experience operating a telehandler, cherry picker, forklift preferred
  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport preferred
