Quality Team Leader


£30,000 per annum

A new opportunity has become available for a Quality Team Leader based at a market leading manufacturer based in Glossop. You’ll be joining a company who manufacturer goods for the aerospace sector with more than 50 years’ experience within the industry.

As the Quality Team Leader you’ll report into the Quality Manager and will carry out appropriate tests and calibration of equipment.

  • Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

What will you be doing as a Quality Team Leader?

  • Controlling any rejections from quality / production team with appropriate reasons for non-approval, ensuring the Quality Manager is briefed on any exceptions
  • Carrying out the appropriate tests required for the product and recording data
  • Carrying out calibration of in-house tools and equipment periodically as per the requirements of the specific equipment and keeping accurate records of such tests
  • Delivering qualifications through intensive training and development of an appropriate team member
  • Working with colleagues to ensure the implementation of the company’s policies and goals, including in particular Health & Safety and Quality
  • Working on your own initiative as required ensuring the smooth, efficient and effective availability of administrative support is available for the business

What do you need?

  • Intensive understanding of Quality Managers role including QMS, fair submittals, internal audits and dealing with customer complaints and subsequent CCAR’s etc
  • Experience of quality inspection – preferably in an industrial but definitely manufacturing environment
  • GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths
  • Inspection experience in an engineering environment
  • Flexibility to cover the Quality Manager during periods of holiday/absence
  • EN4179 Qualification and NAS410 Qualification working towards BS9934/1 and ASTME1444
  • Experience of measuring equipment
  • Consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures

 What’s nice to have?

  • Experience with Magnet Particle Inspection, Vickers Hardness Testing, Tensile Testing, preparation of metallurgical micro samples
  • Metallurgy knowledge / qualification advantageous
