We’re hiring for an experienced Sales Engineer to join a niche engineering firm based in the Glossop area. The company work with a variety of industries including the food & drink, pharmaceutical, nuclear and automotive sectors, and your role will involve selling both a specialist product and a service, with 50% of your time spent on the road.

As part of a close-knit team at their Glossop based head office, you’ll be joining at an exciting stage of their growth, helping to propel the company’s sister brand to the next level.

What’s on offer?

  • £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (OTE £50K – £70K)

What will you be doing as a Sales Engineer?

  • Carrying out site surveys with the end-user and working alongside them to deliver and propose bespoke solutions
  • Delivering high-quality customer service, building excellent client relationships in person and over the phone
  • Researching and developing strategies; influencing on lead generation and website development
  • Travelling to clients’ site throughout the UK and locations across the globe on occasions
  • You will have an influence on marketing spending and activities
  • Setting and delivering KPIs
  • Dealing with and closing customer leads; following up and creating quotes
  • Delivering and installing the product/service
  • Responsible for handing over the projects to the projects department
  • Developing the sister brand to grow it to its full potential

 

What do you need?

  • A minimum of 3 years sales experience
  • Mechanical engineering background preferred
  • Any knowledge of ventilation / refrigeration / humidity control systems would be advantageous
  • Proven track record of achieving targets (including experience outside of an engineering role)
  • Formal training or qualification within engineering
  • Ideally experience in a sales and engineering role
  • CAD and Solidworks experience are beneficial
