Service Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join a globally recognised manufacturer based in Trafford Park with immediate effect.

With international travel opportunities, you’ll be installing and commissioning foam production equipment globally. Your mechanical expertise and customer-centric approach will be essential for building strong client relationships and meeting business objectives.

What’s on offer?

• £40,000 – £50,000 per year
• Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:45pm / Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm
• Extra daily payment of £50 for any overseas work
• Cash advance & company credit card to cover all expenses
• 25 days holiday

What will you be doing as a Service Engineer?

• Conducting service and maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment
• Performing PLC fault-finding tasks, including input/output checks
• Maintaining instrumentation equipment, including mass flowmeters, pressure switches/transducers, temperature probes, and valves
• Handling variable speed drives/inverters and overseeing electrical installations, advising and supervising electricians as required
• Traveling internationally installing and commissioning foam production equipment, with initial office-based training and subsequent solo or team travel for larger projects
• Developing mechanical and pneumatic understanding, particularly concerning pumps and conveyors
• Utilising experience in servicing bespoke machinery and working in the chemical industry to enhance job performance
• Fostering strong customer relationships, demonstrating commercial awareness and understanding business costs and customer needs

What do you need?

• Strong electrical fault-finding experience
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering
• A knowledge of current electrical wiring regulations 17^th/18^th
• PLC fault finding experience
• Knowledge of PLC networks
• Previous experience with electrical installations
• A preparedness to work abroad where required
