Sheet Metal Worker

We’re looking for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a renowned engineering firm at their site in Hadfield.

In this role, the successful candidate will examine drawings and specifications, use various tools to mark and shape sheet metal, assemble and finish parts, repair damaged metal components, and ensure the final product meets specifications.

What’s on offer?

• £18.00 per hour (d.o.e)
• Monday – Friday
• 5 hour week
• Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)
• 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays)

What will you be doing as a Sheet Metal Worker?

• Examining drawings and specifications to assess job requirements
• Using templates measuring instruments and tools to mark out layout lines and reference points
• Using hand or machine tools to bend, roll, fold, press or beat cut sheet metal
• Assembling prepared parts and joining them by bolting, welding or soldering
• Finishing product by grinding, filing, cleaning and polishing
• Repairing damaged metal parts such as galvanised sheets and tubes by beating, riveting, soldering, welding and fitting replacement parts
• Checking final product to ensure conformity with specifications

What do you need?

• The ability to read and interpret 2d & 3d diagrams
• Previous sheet metal experience
• Flexibility regarding overtime where required
