Sheet Metal Worker


£16.50 - £17.50 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join a company at the forefront of magnetic technology at their site based in Rochdale.

As a key member of the workforce, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, cutting and shaping sheet metal, and assembling components for a variety of applications.

What will you be doing as a Sheet Metal Worker?

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Measuring and marking dimensions on sheet metal using rulers, squares, and templates
  • Cutting, shaping, and forming sheet metal using various tools and machinery
  • Assembling and installing sheet metal components
  • Welding, soldering, or riveting sheet metal parts together to create larger assemblies
  • Inspecting finished products for quality and adherence to specifications and safety standards
  • Installing and maintaining sheet metal systems, including ductwork, ventilation, and HVAC equipment
  • Repairing or replacing damaged sheet metal components or structures
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure proper installation and functionality
  • Adhering to safety protocols and use protective equipment to prevent accidents
  • Maintaining tools and equipment, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting issues
  • Keeping accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project timeframes
  • Staying updated with industry trends and advancements in sheet metal fabrication
  • Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities and meet project deadlines

What do you need?

  • Time served as a sheet metal worker
  • Experience with MIG & TIG welding
  • The ability to weld stainless TIG
