A national charity are looking for Support Workers to join them at their site based in Sheffield with immediate effect.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in fostering trusting relationships with service users, promoting their well-being, and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

What will you be doing as a Support Worker?

  • Fostering and maintaining warm, trusting relationships with service users, promoting their self-esteem and emotional well-being
  • Ensuring the privacy and dignity of service users are respected at all times
  • Providing considerate personal care tailored to individual needs and preferences
  • Encouraging and supporting service users in expressing their needs, views, and concerns, enabling their participation in decision-making processes
  • Respecting and upholding the rights and entitlements of people with learning disabilities, facilitating their full participation in their communities
  • Responding flexibly to the evolving needs of service users in alignment with person-centred plans
  • Cultivating independence, confidence, and proficiency in various life skills, including social interactions, personal care, and daily living activities
  • Implementing appropriate strategies and interventions to support service users exhibiting challenging behaviours, as specified in Positive Behaviour Support Plans
  • Monitoring and promoting the physical and mental well-being of service users, including administering prescribed medication and promoting healthy lifestyles
  • Supporting service users in leading socially valued lives by facilitating access to diverse experiences and opportunities for personal development

What do you need?

  • Experience in providing care and support to people with learning disabilities
  • A health and social care diploma, NVQ or equivalent social care qualification
  • A warm, person centred and affirmative approach to people with learning disabilities
  • Flexibility to work rotating hours across a 7 day period
