We’re hiring for an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join a well-established, award-winning engineering company based in Glossop. With over 40 years of industry experience, this company work with a variety of industries including electrical, aerospace, and bionic, no two days are the same.

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you’ll use your technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of products, for which a certain level of expertise is needed. They are looking for someone who is motivated by achievement, enjoys working towards goals and being part of a small team.

  • £25,000 – £32,000 + Commission
  • 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday

What will you be doing as a Technical Sales Engineer?

  • Assisting colleagues with bids and tenders for new clients from a technical perspective
  • Searching for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximise client potential
  • Developing long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
  • Calculating client quotations and administer client accounts
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Working on after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required
  • Analysing costs and sales
  • Preparing reports for head office and keep customer records
  • Meeting regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects
  • Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needs


What do you need?

  • Previous experience in technical sales role and knowledge of CNC capabilities
  • A full driving licence is essential for travelling to sites
  • Knowledge of materials and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 (2015 version)
  • Sound judgement and good business sense
  • Organisational skills and an experience with project management will be valuable
  • The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
